Belgium
What Belgium lacks in the way of hills and mountains, it more than makes up for with its attractive Flemish towns and peaceful network of canals. During your stay don’t forget to sample two of Begium’s most famous exports: waffles and chocolate!
A good place to start is a guided city break to Bruges. This quintessential Belgian city is easily reached by Eurostar train, making it an excellent destination for a short break. The medieval heart is remarkably preserved whilst the network of canals have given Bruges its renown as the Venice of the North. As well as enjoying the cathedral, art museums and lace-making workshops you can spend a full day in neighbouring Ghent with its fine Gothic architecture and imposing St Bavo’s Cathedral.
With leisurely level paths, Belgium lends itself to an exploration by bike. Our two bike and boat holidays will take you through the canals and waterways on a traditional barge, allowing you to hop off for cycle rides through the countryside. This is also a great way to see some of Belgium and Holland’s most celebrated cities. Choose between holidays from Amsterdam to Bruges or from Amsterdam to Brussels.
