North York Moors
Heather moorland. Heritage coast. Old friends.
High cliffs. Bustling beaches. Woodland paths.
Steam trains. Fish and chips. A Georgian mansion.
The contrasts of the Yorkshire moors and coast
are waiting to be discovered.
The North York Moors comprise England's largest unbroken
tract of heather moor, interrupted only by lush valleys of
rural calm.
Our guided Classic Walking holidays offer a chance to really discover
the North York Moors, and with the highest cliffs on the English
east coast there is excellent scope for cliff walking. Passing
huddled fishing villages such as Robin Hood's Bay adds
to the enjoyment. In the summer the North York
Moors National Park offers superb walking through a vast
purple carpet of heather moorland.
- Excellent walking on the North York Moors
- Elegant Georgian accommodation at Larpool Hall

A typical Classic Walking day
will offer you a choice of 2 or 3 guided walks, each
of varying length and ascent. If you are new to walking, start
at the easier level, where the pace is the gentlest. We have
plenty of stops to enjoy the views and to rest. As your holiday
progresses you may feel confident to try a more challenging
level, or stick to the same level - it's entirely your choice.
More information on the type of footpaths
