On these holidays there is a choice of two walks for varying abilities each day.
ITINERARY
Day 1: arrival day |
|
Day 2: from the Stalheim Hotel explore the beautiful Brekkedalen Valley enjoying the myriad of waterfalls cascading down its steep sides and visiting mountain farms high in their summer pastures.
Day 3: discover the delightful Jordalen Valley with its isolated farmsteads and dramatic mountains. An easier option follows the old King’s Road down to the lakeshore at Oppheim.
Day 4: take an exhilarating trip on the famous Flamsb°ana train, one of the most spectacular train rides in the world, then walk down the dramatic Fl°amsdal Valley past the mighty cascade of Kjosfossen waterfall to the beautiful fjord below.
Day 5: free day - spend the day on the shores of the beautiful Hardangerfjord and its pretty village of Ulvik and visit the sculpture park in the tiny hamlet of Osa superbly situated by the wild and narrow Osafjord.
Day 6: ascend by cable car from the pleasant lakeside town of Voss with its 13th century church, to the summit of Mt Hangur and explore the mountain plateau with its awe-inspiring panoramic views.
Day 7: enjoy breathtaking views high above the mighty Sognefjord before sailing from the idyllic town of Aurland down the magnificent Naerøyfjord, a breathtaking World Heritage Site, ending a truly unforgettable day.
Day 8: departure day and an opportunity to visit the captivating city of Bergen with its beautiful historic harbour lined with colourful wooden houses, famous fish market, excellent museums and Fløibanen funicular taking you high above the city for stunning views. |
Please Note: The above programme should give you a good feel for the
walks at this resort but is subject to change. Each year we listen carefully to
the views of our guests and make improvements to our walking programmes. Further
information will be sent to you prior to your holiday; however the final selection
of walks will be made by your walking leaders.
Local transport to and from walks:
Local transport is not included in the cost of your holiday.
Please allow Kr1500 (approx £145) per week for
transport during the week, excluding your free day. Payable
locally.
