Lanzarote is a favourite destination for our Christmas and New Year guests. Praia da Luz, Algarve , Portugal

Our new base in the Algarve is the excellent four-star Belavista Hotel. Situated in the pleasant resort of Praia da Luz, the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and coastal path and has spacious bedrooms plus an outdoor pool and terrace. The beautiful Algarve coastline, with its ochre and cream cliffs rock arches and sea stacks, is the focus of a number of our walks. In addition we can explore the less developed Atlantic coast and wander inland through the olive and lemon groves.

Ronda, Andalucia , Spain

Experience the colour of a traditional Spanish New Year in the historic Andalucian town of Ronda. A warm welcome and good local cuisine awaits you at the three-star Hotel Don Miguel, situated atop Ronda’s famous gorge. The surrounding area offers delightful walks, either in the rural farms and olive groves surrounding the town or further afield in the limestone mountains of the Grazalema and Sierra de la Nievas national parks.

Malta’s unique history makes the island a fascinating place to visit at any time of the year. On this walking & sightseeing holiday we’ll explore the fine Renaissance capital of Valletta, the ancient city of Mdina and the huge domed church at Mosta. Winter Walking
The Swiss Alps are a breathtaking landscape to explore in the winter. Using specially prepared paths we’ll explore the snow-covered valleys and meadows that surround the picture-postcard village of Adelboden.
